Money.cnn.com (new window) featured CBPP senior policy scholar Robert Shapiro’s reaction to U.S. treasury secretary Mnuchin’s address to Congress. Mnuchin stated that Congress needs to take heed on the Trump Administration’s intention to cut taxes or “you’re going to see a reversal of a significant amount of these [stock market] gains.” Shapiro commented, “Part of the job of the treasury secretary is to maintain the stability of U.S. markets.
