The Urban Economics Association (UEA) held its 2024 North American Meeting at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. on Friday, September 20 and Saturday, September 21. The conference featured a packed schedule of presentations, discussions, and keynote addresses.
This year’s keynote speakers, Rebecca Diamond from Stanford University (“The UnEqual Effects of UpZoning”) and Gordon Hanson from Harvard University (“How Does Place Based Policy Work?”), shared their insights on critical urban and regional economic topics. Attendees also had the opportunity to network and engage with colleagues during a Friday evening reception.
The UEA invited the submission of high-quality papers on a variety of topics, including the economics of cities, housing, real estate, transportation, local public good provision, economic geography, and urban or regional policy. The association remained committed to fostering excellence in academic research and promoting participation in urban and regional economics.
