Executive Director John Mayo releases a new Economic Policy Vignette: “Rules to Prevent Digital Discrimination: The Economic Guideposts”.
The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021 provides substantial public funding to accelerate the deployment of high-speed broadband in the United States. As part of the Act, Congress requires the FCC to implement rules to facilitate equal access to broadband internet service, and prevent digital discrimination. In this Economic Policy Vignette, Professor Mayo identifies four key economic principles to smartly guide that rule-making.
